PT DI Expanding Market to Asia Pacific and Africa

INILAH, Bandung - To coincide with Heroes' Day, PT Dirgantara Indonesia (DI) again sent its superior products. This time, the delivery was in the form of a ferry flight for an NC212i aircraft ordered by the Thai Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives (MOAC).

PT DI Director Iwan Krisnanto, Head of the Sub-Directorate of Corporate Planning and Program Management, said that the shipment of the product marks that his party is now focusing on targeting the commercial market.

"The prospect of the aircraft industry currently has a fairly large market share, especially in commercial aircraft. The NC212i aircraft needs of the world for the next 10 years that is as many as 255 units. Going forward, PT DI's expansion plans are Asia Pacific and Africa markets, "Iwan said in Bandung, Sunday (11/10/2019).

For this reason, he claimed PT DI would increase the production capacity of the NC212i aircraft. From the original four aircraft per year will be increased to six aircraft per year. The strategy will begin next year to meet the NC212i target for the next 10 years.

Iwan added, in addition to the NC212i military requirements it was the latest generation multipurpose aircraft from NC212 with a capacity of 28 passengers. Equipped with advanced features and lower operating costs, the aircraft was relatively more competitive in the small aircraft market.

Regarding the delivery of the ferry flight NC212i that was sent by him, he completed the procurement contract for the two NC212i units. Later, the propeller aircraft will be used by the MOAC Department of the Rain Making and Agricultural Aviation Thailand.

"The first NC212i aircraft was carried out on October 22, 2019 yesterday. Today the second NC212i ferry flight is being resumed, the delivery being carried out more quickly in a month so the schedule is according to the contract, which is December 2019. Thus, a total of two NC212i aircraft have been sent to MOAC Thailand, "he said.

He said, from the PT DI hangar the aircraft was controlled by Capt Zulda Hendra as a pilot in command and Capt Billy Yudha Firmansyah as a copilot flying NC212i aircraft from Husein Sastranegara Airport. The plan is for the aircraft to fly to Hang Nadim Airport and continue to Nakhon Sawan Air Base, Thailand as the final destination the next day.

The products made by PT DI will go through MOAC Thailand's final acceptance department of the Rain Making and Agricultural Aviation on Tuesday (12/11) tomorrow. This aircraft can be used as passenger transport, VIP, cargo, rain making, troop / paratroop transport and medical evacuation which can be installed alternately as needed.
